Hi all,

I have attached four Awards nomination documents:

2021 MAER Recognition Award

2022 MAER Recognition Award

2021 David and JoAnn Search Lifetime Achievement Award

2022 D&J Search Lifetime Achievement Award

The 2021 forms have the language we have been using for several years, and
the 2022 forms have updated language.

Please provide feedback by December 1st so we can get the Awards Nominations
announcements out to our membership.

Reply all is good so everyone can see responses.

Thanks and Happy Thansgiving!

I liked the wording on the D&J Search Lifetime Achievement Award.  The 2022 MAER award I think needs to be clearer in its first paragraph.  In one part it sounds like an anniversary, say an organization that has been around for more than 50 years, could be nominated.  Then the last sentence says that a long record of involvement would not be recognized.  So if an agency had served the blindness community for 50 years, would they be able to be recognized?  I wasn't totally sure if that would count or not.  I like the thought of recognizing organizations that have been around for a long time.

I also wasn't sure what would be a special activity.  If we can give more concrete examples of what we are looking for, it might help generate more nominations.  Would we count an organization that holds the Braille Challenge to be available for nominating or is that not special enough?

These are just my thoughts.  I also admit my brain isn't functioning fully due to stress.  :~)
