Sharing this opportunity from the National Instructional Materials Access Center (NIMAC); please contact Nicole Gaines if you have any questions. Thank you!

Hi, all. I am pleased to share with you the revised Request for Services (RFS) for the NIMAC's opportunity for skilled braille transcriber-trainers. If you could please distribute this posting through your networks, that would be much appreciated. Here is a summary of this RFS:

  • The NIMAC seeks to contract with 1-2 skilled transcribers to provide webinar-based training in the use of NIMAS to produce embossed braille textbooks.
  • We will offer two series of trainings, one for Duxbury users and another for Braille 2000 users. Trainers are welcome to submit a proposal to provide one or both series.
  • We are accepting proposals from now until January 10, 2022.
  • The transcriber training will be offered via webinar, free of charge, in Spring 2022.
  • This is a paid opportunity for the selected trainer(s). The budget ceiling is $10,000 per course (or a total of $20,000).
  • We invite skilled textbook transcribers to consider this opportunity and submit a proposal.
In addition to the complete RFS, I have also attached a "cheat sheet" that zeroes in on the specific project requirements and submission guidelines.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!

Thanks!

Nicole
